Professional's Tip

“The bridle path cuts through the middle of this short dog-legged par 4. A tough tee shot now faces all players. Cutting the corner and the out of bounds, with a right to left shaped shot, can shorten this hole for the longer hitters. The bail out shot to the right is now penalised with one of the original bunkers being restored to tighten the fairway. Gorse planting has also taken its place in the open area between the bridleway and the winter tee on the ninth hole. Two safely placed shots, however, missing the mounds, valleys, gorse and bunker that surround the green are more often rewarded.”
